					  <description><![CDATA[<span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">The day, which marks the signing of the UNESCO-ILO Recommendation on the Status of Education Personnel in 1966, is now an important lobbying day for educators around the world to make governments put in place the terms laid down in the document.
<p align="justify">"In 2007 EI and its affiliates want to make clear that better working conditions for teachers mean better learning conditions for learners. We demand a decent working environment, living wages, equal pay and equal rights for women, initial and ongoing professional development, involvement in policy-making and last but not least collective bargaining to defend and enhance teachers&#8217; rights," said Nxesi, in his address to the Congress participants.

					  <title><![CDATA[EDUCATION SECONDAIRE: oeuvrer pour le bilinguisme Anglais/Français]]></title>

<p align="justify">Commandit&eacute;e par le minist&egrave;re de l'&Eacute;ducation, une &eacute;tude sur le niveau de la langue anglaise dans nos coll&egrave;ges a &eacute;t&eacute; conduite par le British Council (BC) entre f&eacute;vrier et juin dernier. Le rapport sur les r&eacute;sultats de cette &eacute;tude a &eacute;t&eacute; rendu public hier au Mauritius Institute of Education et a &eacute;t&eacute; pr&eacute;sent&eacute; par le directeur du BC, Simon Ingram-Hill. Le rapport recommande entre autres une politique " which supports the creation of a population bilingual in the two international languages English and French ". <br/><br/>L'&eacute;tude a &eacute;t&eacute; men&eacute;e aupr&egrave;s de 2 200 coll&eacute;giens de Form I-III (11 -14 ans), issus de 22 coll&egrave;ges de l'&icirc;le. Pour des raisons pratiques, Rodrigues n'a pu &ecirc;tre impliqu&eacute;e. Quatre types d'&eacute;tablissements &eacute;taient cibl&eacute;s, notamment le pr&eacute;vocationnel (5 coll&egrave;ges), les coll&egrave;ges d'&Eacute;tat (4), les coll&egrave;ges priv&eacute;s b&eacute;n&eacute;ficiant du financement de l'&Eacute;tat (5) et les coll&egrave;ges qualifi&eacute;s de Higher Performing Secondary Schools (8). </p>

Les autres suggestions concernent l&#8217;&eacute;valuation continue qui sera int&eacute;gr&eacute;e au Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) et l&#8217;all&egrave;gement du programme d&#8217;&eacute;tudes. <br/><br/>Le document intitul&eacute;, &laquo;Towards a quality curriculum&raquo;, tient compte des suggestions de p&eacute;dagogues, syndicalistes et partenaires de l&#8217;Education notamment lors du d&eacute;bat national sur la r&eacute;vision du curriculum l&#8217;ann&eacute;e derni&egrave;re. </p>]]></description>

Il a battu aux points, lors de son entr&eacute;e en comp&eacute;tition, le Russe Ivan Kondrovkyev, tombeur du champion du monde en titre, le Kirghiz Gulzhigit Fhermatov, jeudi en quart de finale. Il&nbsp; s'est mesur&eacute; au Kazakh Asset Taiganov en finale, cet apr&egrave;s-midi.</p>
<p>Fabrice Bauluck a ainsi remport&eacute; son deuxi&egrave;me titre de champion du monde junior en deux ans.<br/><br/>Judex Jeannot, responsable de l'&eacute;lite au sein de la F&eacute;d&eacute;ration mauricienne de kick-boxing, &eacute;tait vraiment tr&egrave;s heureux de cette victoire.
